Faster Pussycat in Brooklyn

Went to see Faster Pussycat at Europa the other day. My buddies WildStreet  and The Party Death opened for them. Lutsa chicks and dudes with big hair and make up...holy hair metal madness!
Founding frontman Taime Downe is the last member standing from those days and effectively brought LA glam to Brooklyn. The sleaze-rock heroes played the hits and even their love song house of pain...it was a fun car wreck on memory lane.

Faith No More in Brooklyn

How many people can say they saw Faith No More play in their neighborhood...at the park...by the river...with Manhattan in the distance. This guy can!   and twice in 4th of July wknd to boot.

Shangri La Studio party in greenpoint

Went to this rad party in Greenpoint at this huge loft. There was free booze all night with a door price of 12 bones.
They had done some renovations and the place looked a bit spiffy...as opposed to the DIY feel it had before. A bunch of bands including classy Brian Newman Trio played and the fire breathing burlesque chicks were tops.
The whole night was an epic win until Jon Toubin started setting up for his dj set...that's when the announcement came to leave cuz the cops were outside...apparently something really bad went down on the street.
That pretty much sobered us, so we moved the party to our friend's rooftop, zig zagging our way thru the police shit show at 4am.

Municipal Waste and Atakke do Knitting Factory good

The other night one of my favorite bands, Municipal Waste, played The Knitting Factory. In proper manner, a bunch of us started the night with some delish BBQ and drinks at that awesome F.Sau place near by...even the Earache dudes got in the action since I've been raving about it for a minute.
My friend Sam's band: Atakke opened up the night and they destroyed. Too bad I was too far back to snap some pics, but the ones I did take were from The Waste. Which, as predicted brought the building down.

halloween wknd fun

this crazy little thing called Halloween came and went...shit was hella fun!
Hit the $250k VICE magazine anniversary halloween party here in brooklyn...wise choice, considering the damn rain
would only slow us down from getting to and from the city.
pics of the costumes will be uploaded later. In the meantime here are the BAD BRAINS shots.
oh and apparently the clusterfuck outside the warehouse with rain, people in line, bouncers and cops was not a fun way to spend halloween night...

then moved the party to some loft / rooftop party on Berry...pretty fun too!
